The Ask

As a Product Web Designer at LoveToKnow, I was responsible for enhancing the user experience and visual design across the company’s portfolio of high-traffic content websites. My role combined UX strategy, UI design, and front-end collaboration to ensure that editorial content was not only engaging but also optimized for usability, performance, and SEO.

The Design

Designed responsive web experiences for desktop and mobile across LoveToKnow’s verticals (e.g., lifestyle, family, entertainment, and education) Translated editorial needs and user behavior data into intuitive layouts, content modules, and navigation systems Collaborated with product managers, developers, and SEO specialists to balance design aesthetics with content discoverability and ad performance. Created and maintained scalable design systems and style guides to ensure brand consistency across multiple platforms Conducted A/B testing and analyzed user metrics to improve page engagement, reduce bounce rates, and increase time-on-site

The development

Contributed to a major site redesign that led to a 15% increase in user engagement and improved mobile usability scores Helped streamline the content reading experience, resulting in higher article completion rates and better ad viewability Enhanced collaboration between design and editorial by introducing reusable design patterns and clear content guidelines. This role allowed me to design for millions of users while aligning content, design, and business goals—bringing together creativity, usability, and performance in every deliverable.

The Takeaway

At LoveToKnow, I deepened my expertise in designing content-rich user interfaces that prioritize clarity, accessibility, and performance. Working at the intersection of editorial and product, I applied clean, user-focused design principles, emphasized visual hierarchy, and used modular UI systems to support scalability across a diverse range of topics and audiences. This experience strengthened my ability to design for high volume, content driven environments where UI must guide the reader, support monetization strategies, and adapt seamlessly across devices.
